3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy brown color, beautiful creamy head.
Very nice and original aroma: sourness, malt, fruits.
Good body structure and strength, very good mix of sweetness and sourness (both delicate), oak cask, little astringency.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big lasting 1-inch beige head covers the light brown body. Mild and foamy nose speaks of a volcanic carbonation to be. Very soft sharp doughy yeast. Semi-dry fruitiness mixes along with earthy and sandy notions while esters (banana, mango) demarcate their domain. Spicy yeast effect suggests nutmeg. Very yeasty nature, but the fabulous mouthfeel helps a lot in boosting the experience up. The flavours stay mostly in line with the nose, semi-dry earthy, doughy fruity and spicy right and left suggestions, but the incredibly soft and fluffy nature of the brew has impacts in all aspects, lifting the flavours up twofold. The liquid just becomes a creamy active foam in your mouth. Yum.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample from the bottle (750 ml) at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. A massive lasting smooth, creamy off-white head leaves thick, thick residue atop the dense brown body....immense caramel sweet-creamy aroma, vanilla and perhaps some coconut, raisin and lovely doughy yeast in the overpowering nose....body shows lots of herbal character, is a touch smoky, moderately sweet and dubbel/root beer-like, with medium to high carbonation, warming and full, and just a bit more alcohol than you’d expect towards the finish....tremendous stuff, another intensely creative exploration from this terrific brewer, I can’t wait to try more. My favorite of the three samples I had at the Mondial.

Very high head on a derk brown body. In fact, the beer flowed over as soon as I had opened the bottle. Yeasty, with fruit hints, it was more bitter than I expected. Friends who are used to Danish dark beer liked it, but noted the higher bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy brown ale with a thick off white head. Yeasty orange peels in aroma, with light cloves and spices. In mouth, a decent malt, with light acidity, cloves, hops, floral hops and pleasant. Medium bodied. At the Mondiale, June 2006.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2008 Bobbing foam protects the yeasty cocoa...Feathery roastiness accompanies the drying, spicy, herbal hop finish, which more than supports...Cinnamon and cloves fit in nicely with the blackberry/plum fruitiness brought to the limelight by the effervescent Belgian-style carbonation...Fruity tartness walks on by, increasing drinkability, yet maybe not fitting perfectly with the dessert spices...

Sampled at Mondial 2006. Medum copper colored body. There was a khaki head on top. The aroma was funky with leather and apples. Also some cinnamon spice. The taste was spicy with cinnamon. Then you get ffruity apples and pears. This was ok.
