3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Swingtop bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium off white head. The aroma acidic, caramel, berries and fruit. Hmm a mess. The flavour is light acidic and tart. Notes of dark fruit, caramel and light tobacco. Much better flavour than smell.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33 cl swing-top bottle, thanks to tkrjukoff!
BB OCT 2011, sampled on April 1, 2011
Shady brown color, big tan head. Red vine like "sour", spicy, brett like, alcohol, almond paste scent. Dry, slight bit acidic, mineral taste. Dry dusty aftertaste, also currant peels. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Warming alcohol.
To me pretty good for sips in small amounts, though I wouldn’t finish a bottle on my own, or I’d do it over a very long time.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Bierkompass.de)
6 Banana on pouring. House sour notes too.
4 Rusty, brief head, few sinky bits.
6 Slightly spicy and slightl sour retronasals, some freezer ice, some stale brown paper. Taste has a reasonable caramelly burntness.
3 Thin palate, sharp through acidity and with crisp carbonation a large part of that. Toffee caramel, and a little toasty finish. Some musty old books.
13 Certainly grows on you. The roastiness and fullness of the maltier elements help balance the acidic sharpness better than the previous two BFMs we had, and it almost fits in very well.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bierkompass. Deep amber color with nice thick beige head. Great carbonation. Aroma sweet malt. Taste, plums, malt, coffee in finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Not the best Belgian strong ale, I ever head, but drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Dark murky brown with a beige head. Acidic aroma with sour cherries, other dark fruits, subtle olive hints, a bit of caramel and light spiciness. Sourish flavor with some malt, woody notes, a bit of barnyard notes, some sourish dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium-bodied. Interesting.
