33cl bottle (batch 5) - poured WITH sediment and you can wag your finger all you want! pours deep amber with tan head and decent lacing. Nose is sour fruit and leather. Batch 5 may be infected; let’s see how the flavor does. Flavor adds coffee, alcohol, vinous notes, and wood. Dry. not what I expect from a weizen bock, but then again, I’ve only had samples from the US and Germany. I just want to keep drinking it to figure it out and I’ve probably had more than half already. Sour and sweet. Sour berry aftertaste. I like it, though theoretically, I shouldn’t. WTF?

750 ml bottle @ WPBF 2013.
Pours a hazy golden amber colour with a white head. Aroma of sourish berries, sweetish malts and wheat. Flavour of sweetish malts, wheat, sourish berries, sweet caramel, banana and some mild herbal notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes caramel sweet and sour. Nice one.

Aroma has yeast, some fruity notes and citrus. Flavour is tart with some citrus, yeasty notes, fruits and biscuits. Good, feels like some farmhouse saison. Where is the coffee?

Bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. Ain’t that a B, a coffee-spiked Weizenbock! Pour is initially deep gold but settles into near russet, with an initially buoyant head backing off to pert bubbles around the edge. Coffee wafts out initially but the base notes in the nose are a bit quirky, with pickled peppers, ripe bread yeast, a touch of anise, and some citrus. Kinda out but it worked for me. Taste is just a smidge off of this impression, with citrus and mild tartness seeming to emerge from the raw yeastiness to submerge the coffee for the most part. More bean would have been more rad, but I kinda dug its weirdness.

Really weird beer. Amber color with an off-white head. Banana, bubblegum, vinegar, and sweet malt on the nose. Only sort of a mild coffee aroma, sort of briney, some lemon zest, and green apple. Mixture of sweet and sour on the flavor. Some banana, bread, and bubblegum. Hints of coffee, some vinegar, green apple, and pickle brine. Mild dark fruit, caramel, and hints of spice.

11.15oz bottle in a weizen glass. Pours amber with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel and toasted malts, coffee, and a little wheat, hops, and toffee. Flavor the same, with the coffee blending in with everything pretty well. Average texture. A pretty good beer.
