3.8% version, Nha Trang. Sparkly golden-straw colour. The aroma is a little bia hoi-ish with appley and phenolic notes. Thin body. Light flavour is mostly wet grains and other assorted rank stuff. One of the world Vietmacros.

45cl (shared) bottle of the 3.8% version. Light golden with a minimal white head. Faint aroma of malt with a hint of cooked vegetables and hops. Sweet and lightly malty. Not as bad as expected, there is actually some bitterness in the finish. Light, a bit refreshing and actually drinkable in the heat. (2012-05-12)

3.8% version. Working through some shitty Vietnamese lagers tonight that I’d never heard of. Uhhh, yah, it’s shite, but it’s better than Bud.

Comes on with a strong taste of air, leaving the palate with the pungency of bottled water. Aftertaste of tap water without the earth. Drank in a 650 bottle in Nha Trang

Canned (3.8%). Pale golden, minimal head. Fruity and sweetish with light body and clean, sterile mouthfeel. Rock hard crystallic malt togather with cardboard. Slight resint finish. Unclean and foul.

Beershine (4710) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - NOV 26, 2009
Bottle. Looks pretty good for a swill with good head retention and long-lasting foam. Metallic, tinny aroma. Not too flawed. Sweet malt in the background. Tacky yukky slick oily palate is watery too. Raunchy swill has sourness and sweetness. Rice beer. No hops, nothing. Innocuous with food but otherwise has no redeeming qualities. Goodbye.

Bottle. Very similar to your typical Asian lager. Straw colour with minimal head. Grainy and vegetable aroma and flavours. Low bitterness and watery finish.

GT2 (3953) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 5, 2009
650 mL from Viet Nam. This was sort of the cheaper 33 export and significantly worse. Weak aroma. Taste is lots of glycerin and chemical notes along with sweet corn, rice, straw, and subtle grassy hops. Very carbonated. Watery body. Meh.

SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - MAR 13, 2009
330ml bottle from Shropshire. Vintage 1996. Soft and pleasant carbonation - gentle soapy foam round the edge of the glass. Soft flavours - nothing unpleasant. Hints of peach. Soft sweetness, balanced by a medium dry mouthfeel. Late in the finish there is a moderate bitterness. Quite nice.

TBone (9413) - Pori, FINLAND - MAR 1, 2009
Canned 09/2008. Golden color, decent white head. Green apples, rubber and corn in the nose. Watery, grainy. Flavor has vegetables and green raw apples. Harsh. To be avoided.
