redlight (1048), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 Thanks to the Cheeseman! Raisons, rum, sweet, caramelly aromas. Pours a light amber. Malty and caramelly with a little bit of a toasty flavor, slightly bready and easy to drink, Its more of a slightly richer amber ale than a barley wine.
The_Jester (493), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 341 mL bottle. Copper-gold with a small white head. Nice aroma: spice, hops, caramel. Slick caramel in the flavour, with enough hops to keep it interesting. Earthy hops at the end. Alcohol barely rises above a whisper. Appropriately mild carbonation. Not up to Bieropholie’s usual standards. Eructoblaster (1254), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 18, 2008 Bottle - 341ml. Pours a hazy hazelnut brown body with average carbonation and a thin beige frothy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with barley, brown sugar, and plummy hints. Rich and complex vineous taste. It carries subtle grainy and oaky notes. Ends with a long, robust, warm finish. Unsurprisingly, another very well done beer from Bièropholie. dmac (849), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Jul 20, 2008 341 ml bottle from glouglouburp, thanks Dany. Sweet aroma with notes of flowers, honey, yeast, slight touch of waxiness, liquid caramel and raisin. Pours a slightly cloudy brown amber with a large light beige bubbly head. Sweet flavor with notes of toffee, honey, flowal notes, and a slightly dry saw dust hidden in the background. Medium bodied with light carbonation and a slightly dry finish. while drinking this one I was wondering what it was and thought it was similiar to a barley wine and after reading the description and quite proud to say I called it correctly. Dickinsonbeer (2514), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 15, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a peachy light amber with a thin lasting head. Aorma is very fruity, estery, peach and pear- tropical fruits, fruity bubblegum notes and some apple cider- but not green apple acetaldehyde. Good sweet malty flavor- tons of sweet syrupy caramel sugar, light toasted bread, tons of fruits, apple, pear, and toffee. Good body and finish. after4ever (1717), Brier, Washington, USA Jun 16, 2008 12-oz. Thanks, Glouglouburp! Pours dark burnished murky brown with golden brown highlights. Virtually no head or lace, just a bit of grayish film. Nice forward sharp orange pith, caramel, and brown bread nose. Medium body, some soft carb. Brown bread, caramel, and oranges on the mid-palate. Peppery finish. Nice stuff.
