The ArtigianALE is a fruity dry strong bitter, characterized by floral aromas and an intense bronze color. The SuperanAle is its hoppier sister and may be lurking behind the bar.

gran birra! molto fine in bocca, di un bel colore rosso opaco. fresca, fruttata, poi viene fuori un amaro deciso, persistente ma che vuole essere bevuto ancora, non basta mai.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2008 2008-03-29, draught with randell at Salone della Birra Artigianale e di Qualità 2008, Milan, 7-5-9-5-17=43
Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Balanced aroma. Excellent mouthfeel, smooth, full flavor: malt, caramel, toffee; perfect! With a touch of sweet nuts. The hopping is seducing, never aggressive, even if powerful. Excellent.
It’s one of the best batches, and with the randell it acquires even more interest.

2007-12-28, draught at the brewpub, 7-5-8-5-16=41
Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Nice fruity, hoppy aroma, quite aromatic (a bit grassy and fruity). The flavor is sweeter than maltier, with good hopping, a bit fruity, but less aromatic than usual. The final is well balanced, with an excellent toffee touch and hop. Less impressive than I remembered, but still very good one.

2005-12-26, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-7-4-15=39
Cloudy dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma is malty, with a subtle hop line and lightly fruity. Malty taste, caramel, toffee, hop; very well mixed together. The final is bold, bitter, malty and with caramel.

July 2005, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-9-5-17=44
Cloudy amber color; thick creamy head. Very nice aroma, subtle: malt, light coffee, caramel, light cheese, and nice American hops. Original and malty taste; caramel, sticky, chocolate, malt, extremely hopped with a good bitterness, aromatic (Perle, Styrian, Goldings, Cascade). Long and bitter final. Excellent!

2002-11-10, draught at the brewpub, 6-5-7-4-15=37
Light aroma, some malt and hop. It presents a light but original note of coffee.

Hazy amber colour, creamy collar of foam (nitrogen conditioned). Very nice aroma of caramalt. Good body, heavy maltiness, smooth, some sweetness soon balanced by a strong hopping. Heavy palate, very long, malty and of course hopped

On the tap at the brewpub and in several other places and times... Amber-coppery and quite clear. White and fluffy head (maybe too much for the style, at least the last time). Wonderful hoppy explosion both in the nose and mouth. Refreshing and exciting fresh hop and citrusy aroma, quite strong (as I like!) but not very long-lasting. Mild malty notes which stay in the background. Medium body, smooth and well balanced even if the hoppy bitterness actually dominates. It’s simply dangerous drinkable for me.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2007 On tap and randallized. Obviously fresh hop scents (citrus, grass, bit pepper). Fantastic brilliant copper red but lack head, think ’cause it was poured as real-ales. Fruity sweet flavour, well balanced by randall’s hop. Well brewed indeed. 8; 3; 8; 4; 13 = 3.6 Re-rate: Drank a lot since that first time, on tap, nitro-kegged and bottled. Loads of fruitiness , the right cara touch as a beautiful backbone to a perfect mix of hops. Medium bodied, very smooth and balanced, perfect session beer to me. Thanks Beppe.

Ottima.

The best handicraft beer of the year 2005. E’ one optimal Ale, much refreshing.
