COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sopwith Camel IPA is in tribute to the WWI fighter plane that was the most successful military aircraft of that era. This IPA with its caramel color and sweet smelling hops has a successfully blended hop combination that you would expect of an IPA but with much more flavor.

From sampler tray at the brewery. Hazy yellow pour with a nice head and sheeting lace. Aroma is pine, somewhat faint. Classic IPA, smooth and salty.

Sampler tray on tap at the brewery- Pours cloudy orange with a nice creamy white head and great lace. The aroma is grapefruity hops. The flavor is piney and grapefruit, wheaty and yeasty. Full body and medium carbonation. I was massively impressed, probably the freshest tasting beer I’ve had.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2011 Tap @ Bi-plane. Cloudy yellow/golden. Looks like a hefe. White head, some lacing. Aroma is wonderful, fresh, resinous hop/marijuana with a slight skunk/cat pee (in a good way) note. Flavor is quite hoppy & bitter with a decent malt sweetness, and a touch of apple fruit. Med bodied. Although this was good I liked their host tap Lucille IPA better.
