Just finishing my last couple of Vietnam rates. Obviously on tap at a little Bia Hoi place in Hanoi. Uniquely watery, corny grassy stuff. barely tastes of much. fresh, cold and refreshing. dirt cheap. what can I say that you dont already know... if you visit Hanoi, you must have this.

[Tap] Poured directly from what looked like an hand pumped keg at a street corner in Hanoi. Very dirty glass was off-putting, but the beer itself was all right. Pours a light yellow color with a high level of carbonation. Nose of corn, vegetal notes and some straw. Flavors are of pale malts, grain, wet grass and mild sour notes. Light in body. Very refreshing. Low in alcohol and by far the cheapest beer you will get anywhere. We paid $1 for 5 beers in 16 oz. mugs. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

Bia Hoi saved my life, as a regular beer drinker working in the heat of Hanoi Bia Hoi is something that will slake my thirst without getting pissed. My local Bia Hoi joint on Quan Thanh was just like my "local" in the UK with regular customers and my drink poured as I walked in off the street. OK the beer was larger and not a pint of bitter but "when in Rome" and this "Rome" was a great place to live

Pale beer press (no bottle) white head that dissapears very quick. Soda tasty. But only 0.15-0.20? glass. The Vietnam wheather makes it better than really it is. A pleasure for hot!

on tap in hanoi old town. pale clear golden with a short-lived head; aroma of lemonade and baking soda; not a whole lot of flavour but a pleasantly crisp finish

La cerveza mas barata del mundo, tomarla es una experiencia inolvidable, ademas uno puede darse el gusto de pagar la vuelta para 20 personas solamente con U$S 3. Algo increible.

Very pale. Light head. The aroma is grainy, lightly fruity. Watery, swilly, grainy taste. Pretty weak. Befits its price.

At bia hoi corner. Pale straw color with foamy head. Mild grainy aroma is thin and a tad skunky. Watery palate. Has some lactic taste. Is really not that bad, pretty smooth and light bodied. Had another place just off bia hoi corner, was much worse. Stinky beer with sweet-sour plastic ugly rotten banana and baby diaper aromas. Slimy palate with low carbo. Metallic, raunchy, sour tin foil skunky nasty bad beer. because Im not positive it was the same bia hoi I rate separately 2-2-2-1-4.

Draught from a bia hoi joint in Hanoi. Pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma and flavour of grain, lemon and grass. Quite thin but still drinkable. Sweet finish. Not a lot of flavour but cheapest drinking in the city.

Draught on the corner in Hanoi. Pours yellow with white foam. Slight aroma, slightly sour taste, goes down cold and tasty. At 6 * 12oz = $1, hard to beat.
