Bottle. Yellowish colour, dull aroma, watery flavourless beer with hint of that skunky mess found in hot country lagers.

I tried eight different beers on my recent one-month trip to Vietnam, with my two favorites being 333 and Saigon Export. Why? Because those two had 5.4% ABV, offering a little more body and flavor than the otherwise gang of tepid, adjunct gang of Vietnamese water lagers.

Beer for drinking, not tasting. Microbiologicaly clean and wonderful for digestion unlike say Leffe. Never seems to cause a bad hangover. Magically healthy beer for drinking every day. Its not interesting like Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild and it doesn’t change flavours in your mouth 5 times like eating a Durian fruit, its just beer for drinking. It makes me happy ! Its for consumption not for pretentious connoisseuers. Beer has many uses and most main brewers are using funky nasty high-throughput yeasts and this one is still safe and yummy.

Pours pale piss yellow with low white head. Aroma of light malt, hay and caramel. Taste is light malty and honey sweet with pretty much no bitterness. Average to lively carbonation, no body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear medium yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is a bit malty, grainy, sour mash corn. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light and a bit watery, carbonation is soft. While not a particularly great beer it does go well with Vietnamese food!

Bottle@Avalon Cafe Lounge, Hanoi, Vietnam. Golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is refreshingly dry and yeasty, and the flavour is also dry and yeasty. Overall a standard lager but pleasant given the environment I was in. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It is one of the best beer in Vietnam, and I usually don’t get headache of it, not like as for the fresh beer they have... which is not to bad either..

Insultingly bland and flavourless. This is like Bud Light Light. Oddly the most common beer on menus, and can be bought for as little as 12 pence a glass in Hui An, which doesn’t represent good value for money. At least the bad beers in Nepal tried (and sadly failed) to experiment with flavour.
