Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. Huge light brown head. Dense. Malts, light sweetness and light chocolate notes in the aroma. Hops, fruit, caramel and herbs in the flavour. Is refreshing and dry. Light bitter with a vague malt tone in the end. Pleasant.

The color is deep reddish-brown. It is very dark indeed with a tall white head. The head is fine and light. It has a sweet malt aroma, a touch sour, and very fruity. With chocolate and caramel. There is a rich malt flavor, with chocolate, caramel and a bit of sour as well (old?). It is nicely roasted. There is not much hop; It has a medium to heavy body and high carbonation. There’s a roasted malt finish in the sourness remains. A touch of berries, maybe. It is very nice, rich malty and interesting. Nice balance is a bit bitter is that hops or the myrtle?

Provided by MikeMac while at The Oak Cafe, thanks: Copper hue with a small fizzy head and minimal lacing. The aroma has notes of an old wool sweater, dry herbs and grains, apple and a hint of corn. The taste is malty and sweet with some fruit background. Very herbal throughout and that got boring. Cardboardy finish and feel, soft and easy going. A very average brew in the end.

More from Badgerben. Light red color. No hop presence in this beer, and that is fine for the style. Quite dry. Maltly, but fairly bitter, and a bitter is actually what I thought it was. An enjoyable session beer.

From a 12-oz bottle shared by Badgerben poours a redish amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves toa film and white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some earthy herb spice, a touch of roasted nuts and nutmeg. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, some mincemeat raisin and some flowery hops. Finish is semi-dry with a mild bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the brewery. Creamy head and a bright red body. Really weird aroma that I was not able to identify until it all started to make sense when I found out that it is flavored with myrtle instead of hops. Even so there is a taste that I would normally describe as hoppy in a beer. Strong taste of malts. Has a certain bite to it, but it overall extremely well balanced.

Disappointing. A mildly malty UK ale aroma. Dreadful label, decent medium-dark brown-red brew. Cidery, and somewhat homebrew tasting. There's a reason that hops have largely replaced bog myrtle for bittering. Medium-light sweetness, some cocoa, but generally indistinct. A little on the thin side.
