This bier is a hopheadís dream come true. At 130 IBUs, this imperial IPA can only be described as a full scale assault on your palate. Enormous hop presence on the front end is balanced nicely by a significant malt backbone and a very clean finish, creating an extremely drinkable 9% ABV bier.

One of the best imperial IPAs Iíve had. Strong hoppiness up front, but finishes amazingly clean for an imperial . One of my favorites.

On tap at the Union Jack Pub in Indianapolis. Orange pour with one finger head and huge lacing. Fruity aroma and taste. Not too sweet, but the sweetness waits behind. Nice.

2oz on tap at hopcat. Listed as 8.4% on the menu. Clear orange color, with a good off-white head, leaving great thicker lace. Good citrusy hop, some biscuity caramely malt. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, lightly slick. A solid DIPA, a bit maltier though, a bit sweeter. Robotopera took a sip, for what itís worth... he said the exhale was similar to "cocktail sauce".... And maybe I see that. A bit of spice to it.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a semi-transparent orange with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; a robust, fairly bitter hop profile with a big pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Draft @ brewery. Sweet musty orange and caramel malt aroma. Deep honey gold with a moderate off-white head. Bready caramle malt, sweet orange, and earthy herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

What I liked most about this beer is that I wasnít overwhelmed with sweetness. The hops covered the alcohol and the brew still maintained a medium body. Really nice.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a uncarbonated transparent orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The deep aroma was hoppy and floral. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of strong deep hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Draft sample at IBGWF 12. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy citrus complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy smooth bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. A very good beer.

I have been seeking a good DIPA brewed locally and this seems to be my answer - I hope Bier makes this is regular staple. The aroma kind of punches you in the face when you open the growler and fill your tulip - citrus and resin - bit of malt. Pours a deep orange/copper with frothy head and tons of lacing. Pretty much wrecks your palate - deep lingering bitterness that sits on your tongue for about a week. Taste is forward with the citrus hops but the malt is pretty solid - maybe a bit more than I would prefer, but not to the extent that I would term this an "east coast IPA". This is somewhere in the middle. I am very pleased with this brew and will be seeking it out again. I hope Bier ramps up the production on this one!
