3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep, dark brown, red when backlit.
Short, whipped tan head.
Scent is smoky caramel, roast, nuts
Taste is mildly coffee bittered, light smokiness.
Very understated, but quite good.

Nice dark brown pour with huge head from my growler. Aromas of roastiness and mild smoke. Taste is semi-sweet with the smokey taste coming thru on the back end. Overall, pretty tasty. I like the smokiness flavor that is not overpowering but becomes evident on the finish.

Joined just to show these guys some support. It is a most delicious brew. Plenty of coffee and toffee with a bit of brown sugar flavor grip the tongue and hints of an ashy campfire fill the nostrils. Either way my tendrils be full of this tasty treat, one that leaves my mouth so sweet!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample at ibgw 2011. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy smoke toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet smoke flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectation where exceeded.
