Rappigold is a full bodied bitter ale brewed with English yeast, German malts, Swiss hops and Slovenian hops. Stylewise, this beer leans to the English Bitter style but is served cooler and with more carbonation. This is an unfiltered, natural ale and is slightly hazy. The yeast and hop fruity aromas typical to ales are combined with caramel notes from the malt. The distinct hop bitterness is balanced in part with residual malt sweetness. Depending on the age of this real ale, the finish can range from slightly sweet to drier and therefore more bitter.

Pours a hazy orange color, topped with a decent off color head. There is a mild malty aroma, plus some nice fruity addition. The taste starts sweet, followed by nice bitterness. Also some fruity notes. A very nice one.

Bought at Drinks of the World Zurich HB. Pours in a cloudy amber. Fruity nose with a hint of banana, flatly carbonized. Light-bodied, but I find the taste hard to describe, there was no dominant factor. Good finish though, on the longer side.

Poured into a plastic cup at the Rapperswil antique boat festival. Golden orange with a nice white head. Round and hoppy with light citrus notes. Very refreshing on a sunny day. I will come back for more.
