Bottle: Poured a bright clear light copper color ale with a small foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of grainy and lightly sweet malt is quite bland. Taste is a mix between grainy dry malt with some light sweetness. Minimal use of hops and limited refreshing qualities lack in this beer. Medium body with limited creamy texture and medium carbonation.

Copper in colour, lingering off-white coloured head, patchy lacing. The aroma was quite toasty which was nice, some caramel sweetness, light citrus hops. The flavour is of light caramel malt sweetness, lightly bitter, the toastiness from the aroma didn’t seem to carry over to the flavour, light hops and a bit of soap. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes mid length, lightly bitter.

This one started off very promising but seemed to lose some strength after the very nice aroma. An excellent cream ale, those aren’t easy to come by.

341ml bottle from La Trappe a Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec.
Opened on December 19, 2007.
No date.
