3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mdi (573) - USA - FEB 11, 2006
75cl bottle. Golden, blonde color, big white head, fairly spritzy. Very intriguing aroma...maltiness is there, but also an earthy, herbal(mint, sage??) spicy element which is dominant...floral as well...musky...at first I thought it was possibly skunked, but that has blown off and a muskiness remains. fair in body, a nice quaffer...a bit bitter, with a malty flavor that is again highlighted by some earthy funk, especially in the finish and the lingering. musk. The belches from this beer taste odd...they remind me a bit of the wild yeast used in New Belgium Biere d Mars this year...funky.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 reebtogi (2161) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 19, 2012
750ml corked bottle pours a hazy pale golden color with a big fluffy white head that lasts a while and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is bready malts with some light fruits and yeast and a trace of hops. Taste is bready malt sweetness with some light fruits and a mild hop bitterness. Medium body and lively carbonation appease the palate nicely. Overall, this is a very nice blonde ale.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Newk (202) - - MAR 10, 2012
poured from bottle into a tulip. Pours a nice gold color with a very foamy head.
excellent and balanced aromas of grains, bits of funk, straw and citrus notes as well
Very good flavors of citrus, grains, and a nice touch of funky dryness on the back end. Nice smooth feel, but lacking a bit in the middle
This is just lacking a slight bit to make it really good. Still a very enjoyable biere de garde with some nice dryness on the end

Golden color with good head. Strange taste of hay. Aroma is malty. Slightly sour finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hirotoma (233) - Bologna, ITALY - FEB 9, 2012
Buona birra! Color paglierino ottima schiuma, odore intenso maltato e luppolato, sapore speziato e fresco, retrogusto non molto persistente! Una vera sorpresa!
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Suttree (3925) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 25, 2011
My French is a little rusty, but it is my understanding that this beer is to be enjoyed without pants. Well, who am I to argue? This tasting (and subsequent rating) will be conducted without pants. Enjoy! Yellow, big fluffy white head. Smells grainy and a little bit skunky - kinda like a Heineken, actually. Tastes a bit like a regular pale lager at first, but it reveals itself as it warms - grainy, grassy, and some nice tart notes as it progresses. Subtle and smooth, with a lot of depth of flavor. The Bride said it was like drinking a glass of French Bread.

Pours hazy dark yellow color with white head. Grainy, musty aroma with some grassy hops. Similar flavors. Medoim body with lively carbonation.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 glennmastrange (1635) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - SEP 15, 2011
Bottle. Moderate malt note of grain, light dried grass for the hops, light to moderate musty barnyard and earth for the yeast, with hints of pear, white wine, wood and some alcohol after it warms. Head is huge, frothy turning rocky, white with excellent thick and crusty lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparklin clear light yellow/amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes faintly sweet and lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation and a slight metallic finish. Though it’s complex, there are mostly light characteristics in this Biere de Garde, but it’s both refreshing and an easy drinker.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JulienHuxley (1149) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 5, 2011
Sample from a bottle at Bières et saveurs de Chambly. Appearance: Clear blond with a white ring. Aroma: Very surprising as I was expected a dry à la St-Sylvestre. Instead, I’m getting honey, caramel, even molasses. Also white flowers and pinneaples. Taste is packed with honeyed cereal, light tartness from citrus notes but mostly on the sweet side. Palate: Liquorous and meidum bodied, nicely fits the flavor profile. Overall: Very good when I finally found out what it was about.

Not too funky in the aroma, this is pretty easy-drinking for the style. Some weird malty flavors, but smooth and pretty tasty.

Bottle - 750ml. Hazy golden body with a thin white foamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with grassy and apple hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its fresh hoppy/herbal taste carries malty notes. Ends with a fair bitter/herbal finish.
