2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - SEP 8, 2001
Amber with a quick head. While I love the Delerium Tremens, and thought highly of the Fire Fox, both from this brewery this was very disappointing. Its sharp and fizzy nature was reminiscent of an American macrobrew with an added apple flavor pervading. In short, try the Delirium instead.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sven (229) - Lancaster, California, USA - APR 4, 2003
UPDATED: APR 10, 2003 Would you like some beer with your yeast? There's bottle conditioning and triple fermentations, but this was a bit much. Like a lava lamp of yeast. Moderate head that quickly disipates. Aroma of alcohol and candy. Taste of pears? A bit of a citric palate as well. Overly sweet and unbalanced. I think the best part of this beer was the very cool bottle.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 aspidites (1273) - manteca, California, USA - NOV 16, 2005
Another dried blood ruddy look that does not appeal to the senses. More alcohol warmth with some cardboard oxidation notes. Decent if not great head retention with average release of gases. Bread y and mildly spicy with hidden fruit notes. Thin and acidic moutfeel. Oxidized finish. Earlier Rating: 11/16/2005 Total Score: 2.2 Somewhat rust red brown color with a slightly salty and oxidized nose. Quick fast and dissipating release of gases. Slightly grassy and some alcohol warmth, thin body with little character. Boring beer with nothing to enjoy.

Bottle: Bought in Sao Paulo, it was extremely expensive but hard to get In El Salvador so I guess worth the price. First beer from Huyghe, not impressed, simple one sided.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - JUN 16, 2008
330ml bottle from Beers Of Europe. A hazy orange beer with a lot of yeast sediment. Hmm - quite thin and dry for a 9% beer - certainly fully attenuated. Not exactly tart, but leaning in that direction. Mousy, soft carbonation. Muddy flavours - messed up yeast with some slight orange zest. Not sure what to make of this - it’s certainly drinkable, but there’s not a lot of interest or character and certainly few pleasure points. But it’s not bad, it does work in its own way, and there is some interest. It’s like a saison heading toward a lambic, but not getting there. The 9% alcohol is totally wasted - the same sort of texture and flavour could be created under 5% - even under 4%. Difficult to give this any sort of decent score - but it doesn’t deserve a really low score either.
