EithCubes (3339) - GERMANY - OCT 26, 2011
Backlog from 27 June 2011, bottle in Budapest. Pours golden with strong carb and a tiny-bubbled white head. Nose is of yeast, very faint fruity alcohol, a bit of candy. Very malty preview, and the old, overripe fruit notes really complement the game I just had. Taste is of candied overripe fruit, a sort of dank. Alcohol isn’t raw but there’s sort of a rotting brutality behind it. Full body, as was the last one, swimming in malty goodness. interesting.

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold, white head. Aroma is honey, pickles, and spices. Flavor is honey, wheat, pickles, spices, slight bleu cheese tanginess. On the funky side, which is what appeals to me.

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 19, 2009
Pours deep-gold with chunky yeasty texture. Fingerwide, lasting white head leaves some lace. Honeyish lighter fruits on the nose, very smooth, no sensible alcohol, moderate yeasty spiciness. Lot of peppery phenols in the flavor besides quince like fruity character. Fizzy character, oily texture, medium body, sensible, but smooth alcohol warmth. Rather yeasty, phenolic dryness than hoppy bitterness.

Balazs (576) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 3, 2010
Bottle from Csakajosor.hu. Poured with a golder yellow color and a massive white, foamy, lacing head. Lots of yeast, coriander, honey, somewhat sourish aroma. Also fruity with green apples, white grapes, lime, and hints of cinnamon. Medium dense with high carbonation, not very easy on the palate. Strong, but the taste of alcohol is well hidden. Sweet finish. Pretty good!

Not particularly memorable as far as Belgian strong ales go, but decent. Dark amber, thick head. A bit of spice and citrus, but mostly characterized by its malty body.

Aroma a cítricos, cebada y akcohol.

This beer poured a garnet color with a thin white head. The taste was that of dried fruits and actually I picked up a hint of chocolate. This was an pretty good beer and one worth trying.

A hazy orange beer with a dense head. The aroma is sweet spicy with coriander standing out. The flavor is a little sour and very spicy with notes of coriander and oranges before a dry end sets in.

Spiesy (2336) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - MAY 13, 2004
Bottled, at the Dovetail, London.
Orange with a streaming white head barely being controlled by the glass. Dramatic stuff. Looked like an upside down waterfall. Smelt like cheep car plastic on a hot summers day. A sharp bitterness greets you, then there’s a sweet orange and mango middle to it, followed by really, really late kicking of bitterness again. Wonderfully complex, mysteriously enjoyable, sort of like S&M for your palate.

Bottle, 9.4% abv. Hazy/cloudy golden colour with slim white head. Spicey and fruity aroma, with apples and barnyard. Caramel, spices, yeast, sugar, fruit and late alcohol in the taste. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Well put together; very good.
