2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, - JUN 16, 2008
330ml bottle from Beers Of Europe. A hazy orange beer with a lot of yeast sediment. Hmm - quite thin and dry for a 9% beer - certainly fully attenuated. Not exactly tart, but leaning in that direction. Mousy, soft carbonation. Muddy flavours - messed up yeast with some slight orange zest. Not sure what to make of this - it’s certainly drinkable, but there’s not a lot of interest or character and certainly few pleasure points. But it’s not bad, it does work in its own way, and there is some interest. It’s like a saison heading toward a lambic, but not getting there. The 9% alcohol is totally wasted - the same sort of texture and flavour could be created under 5% - even under 4%. Difficult to give this any sort of decent score - but it doesn’t deserve a really low score either.

Bottle. Pours a orange colour with a white head on top. Little floaties in the glass. Yeasty, belgianny aroma... as well as the flavour. Nothing special going on here..

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Swaroga (355) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 29, 2012
33cl bottle. Pours a yellow liquid with bits in it. Big white head. Nose : lots of citrus notes with some other fruit aromas like for example lychee’s. Has this aroma of yeast like white beer. Soap. Sip : Well carbonated and fluffy. Sweet with little sourness. the end develops a little bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 emartell (51) - Zapopan, Jalisco, MEXICO - FEB 25, 2012
Aroma a cítricos, cebada y akcohol.

Not particularly memorable as far as Belgian strong ales go, but decent. Dark amber, thick head. A bit of spice and citrus, but mostly characterized by its malty body.

Yellowish-golden, opalescent, a bit fizzy body with medium white head. A bit hazy and cloudy. Aroma resembles to cookies, vanilla and some milky softness. Despite of the high alcohol content, it’s easily drinkable, sweet but harmonic taste. Excellent brew!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Vaiz (2034) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 1, 2011
Pours hazy orange with huge floaties and a thick foamy white head. Aroma is ripe fruits, alcochol, spices, coriander. Flavor is sweet fruity up front and more spicy sharp bitter and alcoholic in the finish. Quite strong and intense brew, a bit off-balance though. Still not bad.
