Bottle at Le Pub, Hanoi. The aroma is light cardboard malt, light hop. The flavour is light bitter with a light malt, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. No fruit at all. These Vietnamese lagers all taste the same.

Large frothy white head. Good lacing. Mostly diminishing. Dark yellow thin clear body. Aroma: honey, light yeasty, alcohol (whiskyish). Initial flavor: moderate sweet (honey). Final flavor: moderate sweet light bitter (metalized); average duration. Palate: light medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Can (thanks friends for sharing). Pale straw color. Simply and dirty aroma. Tastes: like water, a little sweet malt, only ice drink.

Driving through the Hai Van Pass it was time to say goodbye to Huda beer and hello Larue as it was advertised literally everywhere as you enter Danang - shops, restaurants, pharmacies, bike repair stores, you name it it was overly abundant on the eye.
In Hoi An it was dirt cheap and came in big bottles so clearly the beer of choice. Lemon-peel yellow in colour and at some stages bright as bright, and others suffering a little chill haze. Head is a soppy white mess and mostly lasting. Lemongrass, pineapple, steamed rice, damp chaff and wheat ears make for an interesting aroma. Soft, quite soapy and foamy with a cleaner than expected finish. Not much malt; delicate hop taste in back with a subdued, almost non-existent bitterness on the swallow. No length. Bland and one-dimensional if not for the aroma. In light of its availability and price it did the job! (355ml & 450ml, Hội An, Quảng Nam Province, Vietnam)

[Bottle & Can] Had several of these in Vietnam. Straw color with a fizzy white head. High carbonation levels. Sweet grains, grass and light metal in the aroma. Flavors are similar. Dry and somewhat grainy finish. Thin, but better body compared to some other light lagers I had over there. Tasting notes from 8/2014.
