Very hazy amber body with off white head; Very thin but fresh green banana nose; thin body with a very big carbonation, soft; Some alcohol in finish, banana and clay aromas. A little strange.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2010 After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a
flaky thick amber color and a sweet honey taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a caramally touch. This beer smells fruity.

bought @ the brewery.Third beer by Brasserie de Ré that I finally enjoyed.
amber color, thick off-white head.
aroma and flavors of esters, banana, some fruits, malts giving the beer a mild roasted palate.Character is more interesting, malts is more present adding a touch of chocolate although the Hefe impression is still there. Profile keeps a mild hops and citrus bitterness.
As Tomaz said, the price is quite high for the end product quality, about 2€85

ambre weiss beer, done on the island of Re in France near la Rochelle,
Well built good weiss beer. Alcohol is present, with honey notes of written on the bottle. Nice to enjoy with some citrus and lemongrass at the end. Refreshing and not basic at all.
Brewery was bought over by some body else. As we were there, there was a little queue. it is great to see France is doing good stuff. The only thing, the technic looks very limited, since all the beers are based on weissen and pilsner, one of them Organic.
The price is not cheap for what it is, but well, we told the guy to keep improving and developped the brewery, i think they have a good potential and motivation.
