3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 henrikb (1258) - Aarhus, - JUL 27, 2010
Very hazy golden body with a brown edge, huge light off white head; Very interesting nose that both have the soft elements form wheat and a red berry fresh fruity touch that matches very well; Big bubbled big carbonation on a quite soft to think texture, a little clay like thick, not all that pleasant, like way to much yeast has entered the beer; It finishes the same, very clay like yeast and a little unpleasant. Not the best Bieres de Ré has to offer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maupie (908) - Roosendaal, NETHERLANDS - AUG 14, 2010
After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a flaky thick dark bond color and a citrusacid taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a citrus touch. This beer smells fruity.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 sebletitje (4391) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 1, 2010
bottle bought @ the brewery.
golden color, light haze, white head.
As with previous beers, keeps a good Hefe style due to the yeast strain.
aroma is yeasty, malty with some musty aromas, possibly some vegetables, concentrated fruits; apple.
Flavors, yeasty, wheat, esters with a lingering yeasty palate and banana, some roasted malt character, musty.
It could be a nice beer, but I think all of them tend to have the German yeast overpower most of the character. I get the idea of the brews, but this Hefe yeast palate brings the score a little lower for the beer.
