Bottled, shared by Brandon I guess. Smells good, tastes bad. Finish is completely non-existent, disappears halfway through. There is a lot of fruitiness and huge funk, sweet then dry. Pretty nice, very interesting at least.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2008 Shared by notalush, thanks Brandon. Pours a copper color with a small head. Aroma is brett with pineapple and sweet, tart, funky and floral citrus. Taste is empty missing any of the wild characteristics found in the nose and also not having much of a malt or traditional BdG background. I will take someones line here ‘tastes like disappointment’ but only in relation to the aroma.

750ml bottle shared by Notalush. Pours a hazy deep copper with a diminishing head. Instantly notice a weird funk going on- definite brett infection- almost smells like lambicus- fairly goaty, and sweaty with weird herbal character and old malts. Flavor is ok with crackery malts, light breadiness, ok slightly stale hops- herbal and earthy with a sweaty stinky brett infection. Weird infection and it wasn’t unpleasant but it was surprisingly to find in a biere de garde. Id probably rather this wasn’t infected, and get a real idea of what is going on here.

notalush (4991) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Pours a hazy light amber, with a thin, soapy head - quite a bretty aroma, with light earthy, musty complexities that rest on top of a very mild sweetness - the flavor is pretty much the same - fairly light and crisp, with some grainy character, and a young brett flavor that works well with the moderate hop profile, giving it a very rustic, farmhouse feel - light sweetness at the back balances it really nicely - this is a seriously overlooked beer.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a cloudy light amber with fizzy off-white head. Aroma of mixed fruit and signs of farmhouse. Flavor is a light floral, fruit, farmhouse. Light body with high carbonation, fizzy mouthfeel. Decient stuff, great aroma.

BMan1113VR (7868) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a huge off-white, fluffy head and a hazy orange body with some large floaties hanging out (and this was the first pour). Good lacing left by the head. Aroma is slightly sour with leather, barnyard, raspberry jam, and a bit of plastic. Taste is leather barnyard and fruit. Dry mouthfeel. Light bubbles.

Ernest (6342) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately yeasty (basement, barnyard), with a note of sour apple skin. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not the thing of beauty that is the Blonde/Mars, but not bad.

Wow, only three ratings? This is a fine beer that need more exposure. Pours hazy amber with a sudsy soapy off-white head. The aroma is sour, grainy and funky with light sweetness that is very natural like it is fruit sweetened. There is also crisp unripened nectar fruit. This seems very Jolly Pumpkin-esque to me & that is a good thing. Medium clean crisp body with light spritzy carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma traits with more toastedness to the malt, some herbal tea traits and spicy hops. the finish has a lightly sour funk, spicy hops and toast. This is a great beer that is much cleaner tasting that Biere de Gardes that I’m used to having. Highly recommended.
