2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kiwianer (395) - Mönchengladbach, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2012

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Schroppfy (2326) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - SEP 26, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 Another quite good beer by Bierhalle (Lodz location). The aroma has herbs and flowers with a sticky spiciness in the nostrils. The flavor is nice, sweet but not overly so unlike SOOOOO many Polish dunkels - in fact my bottled version (original 3.4 was draft) is almost where you could call it "dry." Bread flavors. Easy to drink. Great palate, carbonation, freshness.

Rated: 08.03.2010
On Tap at Silesia City Center, Katowice, 400 ml
Appearance: Pours brownish - rubby, dark amber, hazy and yeasty body in texture, head is off - white, coppuccino like, frothy, initially medium, slowly decreasing to small, leaving traces of lacing, stable and firm, not diminishing till the end of drinking.
Aroma: Dark bread, very juicy and fresh Munich malt, oriental spices, candid orange peal, fresh orange peal, citric notes, resin, raisin, gooseberry, very complex, notes of pine, full and rich, heavy notes of yeast, well hopped giving the impressions of lime, citruses, orange, lemon. When you sniff into this beer you can’t wait tasting it.
Taste: Notes of dark bread, prune, sunflower seeds, dark chockolate, toffee, however, not sweet, distinct aromatic notes of hops, pine trees, resin and raisin, caramel, some marginal notes of coffee beans. Finish duration is medium.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation on palaate is rather soft, only natural, finish feel is kind of cloying but not overly too sweet, not that pleasureable as many German and Czech Dunkels.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nekronos (2655) - Xalapa, MEXICO - JUL 10, 2008
This was the other one I had that day. I’m not sure about the Pislner one but this was for sure. NIce and sweet aroma, very good to drink slow and does not grasp the throat.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Jukkabro (3471) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 5, 2008
Dark brown colored, little light brown head. Sweet and caramelly, mildly chocolaty aroma, not too rich though. Medium bodied. Flavor also starts with sweetness and mild chocolate, aftertaste is somehow hopped with still this chocolate. Well, nothing special, rather one dimensional.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tomciccateri (737) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAR 23, 2007
On draught at the Nowy Swiat location. An opaque brown color with a light head. Slightly creamy mouthfeel and slightly sweet caramel flavor. Nothing "off" but nothing attention-getting either.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2006
[On draught at the brewpub in Warsaw]
Dark amber colour. Hops and caramel nose. No darker aromas, pretty much of sockerdricka. Blond flavour profile with weak suggestions of roasted malts. Loads of Co2, much too much. Lacking in sweetness for being a dunkel. Pretty dry. Noticably bitter.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Tranquillity (1338) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2006
The colour is a bit spooky, like a soup that’s badly mixed. The head disappears quickly. The aroma is strong of clover, mixed with some sweet dark malt. Smells a bit undone maybe. The taste is very sweet with honey clearly sticking out. Unfortunately, so does the alcohol after a few sips.
