A good example of a traditional stout, a standard version but won't set the world alight. The smooth taste hides the strength - be careful! Rated by BrewTom

Bottle at Delerium Cafe in Rio de Janeiro. Near black, befitting an impy stout. Aroma of hard roast with notes of ash and chocolate. Flavours are acrid burnt malt, some bitter chocolate, and a bit of aniseed. Despite the lower ABV, there was a bit of a harsh boozy quality to this brew. Just ok.

from bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. very dark brown pour with a light beige head, minimal retention and lacing. über-roasted maltiness, peppery and ashy, soy sance, burnt caramel and chocolate malts, sweet molasses, touch of metal. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily, bittersweet grassy-coffee finish. average ris.

Pours a good black with a thin offwhite rim that doesn’t have lacing power. Nose is of molasse and roasted malt, quite stout-y. Taste is of lightly sweet malt, fruits (grapes), roasted malt and a little brown sugar. Body was medium-full, carbonation a touch high (M-H). Overall I felt like this was a well crafted beer, nothing extraordinary but still good.

Mondial 2014. 8.2%.

Black color with almost no head. The roasted malt aroma is mild but nice. It has some roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate, traces of liquorice and leather; it’s drier than expected. Not very imperial, but one-and-half stout.

Negra com espuma cafe com leite. Espuma com boa formação e persistente. No aroma, malte, caramelo e café, açúcar mascavo. No sabor, cafe, bom dulçor, médio amargor que persiste no final do gole. Passas, frutas secas. Excelente! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, shared by Countbeer, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Roastaroma. Thin. Roasty flavor with hints of licorice. Sweet, slightly alcoholic. Nice but onedimensional.
