pondoshuffles (141), Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, Canada Aug 2, 2003 A grand smoked porter. Big peaty, smokey flavours over a full, round chocolate body. Very robust. Drinks lighter than its alcohol suggests. Lovers of smoked beers should try this one!
martin21 (156), Quebec city, Quebec, Canada Dec 26, 2008 Beau collet qui dure. Le gout de fumer est juste parfait et fit a merveille avec le coter chocolat de cette porter.
Beatiful long-lasting head. Smokiness is perfect and fits easily with the porter’s chocolate notes. hellbilly (1019), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Dec 22, 2008 received in trade with glouglouburp...

typical porter color... burgundy brown with a medium sized tan head and light lace trails.
very metallic aroma... nickels, chocolate, caramel sweetness and mild smoke. it*s not so heavily smokey that nothing else can come through... unfortunately, there*s not a whole lot going on.
the flavor is definitely more smokey than the aroma lead me to believe... chocolate, coffee, caramel (without the sweetness), earth and meat lurk under a cloak of sour and nearly salty smoke. ashy aftertaste joins up with astringent roast. medium body. soft carbonation gives it a surprisingly smooth mouth feel given the acidity.

elihapa (464), Hawaii, USA Dec 7, 2008 Bottle says it is a “double-porter.” Pours a clear brown, with ruby accents and a tan head. Aroma of wood, charcoal, roasts, chocolate malt, and dried meats. Palate is refreshingly light and dry, preventing the robust flavors from becoming overwhelming. Calumet can best be described as follows: a smoky, wood-burning barbeque marries chocolate and molasses to produce a delicious desert-like treat. ‘Nuff said. matt7215 (654), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Oct 17, 2008 341 ml bottle from a trade with glouglouburp. pours deep brown with a mid sized tan head. aromas of smoke, sweet chocolate malts and spice. the flavours are porter based with some spice and the smoke lingers thoughout. the spice really shows in the finish. this beer is awesome and i wish i could purchased it year round. thanks danny! rodenbach99 (504), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada Sep 27, 2008 bouteille de 341ml. belle bière foncée, presque noire, nez agréablement fumée, bouche toute aussi soyeuse, fumée, une touche de café, aucune astringence. très beau produit
