MartinT (4506), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 16, 2008 My Bottom Line:
A basket full of raisins, dates, dried cranberries and cherries is doused in cocoa and able caramel, before earthy yeast and roasted malts seal this Dubbel’s finale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A lofty head of foam dissipates atop the cloudy, brown-laced blood red.
-Alcohol is not much of a factor in the flavor profile.
-Roasted malt bitterness is light and achieves enough dryness to cut through the plump body.
-The flavor profile is not super complex, but it is very enjoyable nonetheless.
-Carbonation is levelled and the body quite round, making for a valiant mouthfeel for the style.
-A green malt character (Frontenac?) is found alongside the yeast.
martin21 (156), Quebec city, Quebec, Canada Dec 26, 2008 Gouts de caramel bruler, prunes, raisins, dattes et d alcool. Bon corps. Tres bonne. J en ai quelques unes a vieillir...
Burnt caramel, prunes, grapes, dates and alcohol taste. Good body, very good. I have a couple aging... bedainedebiere (16), terrebonne, Quebec, Canada Dec 6, 2008 Tastes and smells a bit like a scotch ale indeed. Strong caramel aroma, maybe exceptionnal, and a beautiful lightly see through appearance. Sugary taste. Caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar. Fruity also, although quite bitter, especially in the finish. This beer could really become an awesome one with some aging. But it is already a really great and deliciously sweet beer to me. Spiritual inspiration. Maybe, but surely, God, it is good. matt7215 (654), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Nov 30, 2008 341 ml bottle from a trade with glouglouburp. brassin one. pours a deep slightly hazy burgundy with a short lived tan head, but a constant ring of tan and some soapy splotches. aromas of dark fruits, plums and raisons, some yeast. big and full bodied, lots of dark fruit and hint of chocolate. yeasty character and true to a good dubble. big but soft, no alcohol to speak of. im very impressed by this. sip this one or you might get into trouble. Quevillon (1354), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada Nov 28, 2008 Bouteille de 341ml, acheté chez Peluso en octobre 08. Brune caramel brumeuse, petit collet.
