3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Skvader (91) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 2, 2011
On bottle from Paradis de la bière, Blvd. Mont-Royal, Montréal. Promising hoppy aroma, reminiscent of good american IPA:s, despite the british choice of hop. Taste lives up and has also a hint of vanilla in the after taste, maybe a result of the bottle being of age
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2010
Originally rated July 2006. Bought at La Trappe À Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. It pours a slightly hazy amber-orange-red colour with a big creamy tanned head. Retention is real good, carbonation is average and lace is chunky. The nose is full of caramel malt, molasse, nuts and golding hop. Creamy and mild tart mouthfeel. Good clean bitterness in the beginning, but then calms down quite a bit in the finish. Not much lingers. Pretty decent, but I still prefer their Cascade version (which is the same beer, but with cascade hop instead of golding).
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 dudebun (60) - GERMANY - SEP 29, 2010
Pours a dark hazy amber, not a lot of light getting through. Smells like candy or maybe cookies, caramel, cereal, something strange and not beerish. In any case, the flavour is also a little cookie-ish with a decent ending and good mouthfeel for what is a beer with little carbonation. Would only buy it again if there was no other IPA around and I was in the mood.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 paco (527) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - AUG 2, 2010
Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Bottle. Pours a dark amber color. Little to no head. Aromas of dark fruits and hops, sticky sweet caramel, some alcohol. This does not smell like a regular IPA. Taste is sweet and thin. Little bit of bitterness on the back of the tongue. Tastes somewhat musty. Seems more like a weak barley wine to me. This is one interesting beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 strowlands8 (168) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 25, 2010
Aroma is somewhat sweet/caramel with a definite bite from the British hops. Appearance is dark for an IPA, with a small white head. The taste is pretty much the same as the aroma. The palate is superb, super smooth with some carbonation. Overall great, I wish I could find the other IPA to try as well.

Bottle. Cloudy dark amber; shades of orange and brown. LIght lasting foam head. Moderate sweet wood aroma. Rich hop spice flavour up front. Brown sugar, hop bitterness in the finish and a bit of a burnt edge in the aftertaste that is intriguing
