341 ml bottle via JulienHuxley, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear copper with a tan-reddish head. Aroma: Nice toasty, crunchy malts, lightly fruity/earthy/nutty, a touch of bright fruit, light marmalade, toast/biscuit, a little pine. Palate: Medium+ body, moderate effervescence with a few sharp points. Flav.: Nutty, British malts, some American caramel maltiness, leafy, slightly piney hops with a few fruity/citrus notes, some light esters; off dry with good bitterness and a malty finish.

A pleasant and restrained take on the style. Good job.

Bottle. Hazy honey amber body with an off white head and light retention. Grapefruit with light spices hop character lightly faded. hints of pine and fruit, with a duller grain note and a bitter finish.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2011 pours coppery-orange with a decent off-white head, retention/lacing. caramel malts and cascade - that’s what this beer is all about withtout it being sweet. taste has also demerara, fruitiness and medium hopping - sprucey, peppery and floral. average carbonation, light to medium body, medium long sprucey-grapefruity finish. thanks and good luck to SIMPLE MALT (brasseurs illimités’ new brand name).

Thanks Ken for bringing back this pleasant pale. Noticeably hoppy flavour. Some C-hop aroma from a grapefruit coloured body, with siginificant off-white foam and some head. Good drinkability.A little astringent finish.

Pours a dull amber brown with a lovely but short lived head and some lace. Curious, sickly-sweet aroma... curious sickly sweet taste. Strange esthery malting steals the spotlight from anything the hops have to say, moderate carbonation & average body, very odd and not at all the APA it claims to be. Thanks to Boutip for sending this as a bonus beer!

I fear that perhaps this might not be the freshest bottle. Dried herbs, paper, and metal in the aroma. Flavor is more of the same and rather unbalanced. Sweetness gets a bit cloying with a fairly strong, earthy hop bitterness that is not really integrated with the rest of it.

Bottle [341ml] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size lasting creamy off-white head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, yeast and floral/spicy hops. Sweet flavour of light spicy hops, citrus fruit and caramel malt. Quite a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

Pours amber brown with white head and nice lacing. Aroma is hop and caramel. Taste is big on hop, small on caramel with a smooth bitterness in the aftertaste. Super beer, I’ll be heading back to pick up another case.

Appearance: Clear dark amber/light brown body, with some lively bubbles and a foamy beige head. Looks more like and English pale ale, as far as the colour goes. Aroma: Fairly hoppy, with a floral feel to it. Some resinous pine notes; a hint of citrus, and a pretty good caramel maltiness. A touch of dark fruits, maybe cherries or plums. Taste: Starts out with a decent hop bite, I think I’m picking up that Centenial hop taste. There is a moderately strong, caramel-like sweetness, with a touch of grain. The finish is bittersweet and floral, with a little bit of woodiness to it. Mouthfeel: Medium body to it, maybe a bit lighter than medium. Very crisp. Some very nice lively carbonation, which only enhances the drinkability in my opinion. The alcohol isn’t noticeable, considering it’s 6.1% Overall, this is a very tasty session ale that might just become one of my go-to pale ales!

Bottled sample via lubiere. Copper in colour with medium carbonation. On the nose things are floral, grainy, a bit dank, with notes of orange, a bit of pine, and caramel. Some grainy sweetness in the mouth, along with mild citrus and sunflower seeds. Medium bodied with a disjoint slick front and drying grainy bitter finish. Some good elements to this beer, but it never quite comes together. Average.
