2005 bottle, thanks to turg! Poured an inky black with a dense layer of caramel head... just receded a little too quickly for a 5. Aroma was full and complex, with roasted dark chocolate, espresso, raisins, dates, licorice, and a hint of soy. Med-full bodied mouthfeel with plenty of roastiness and mild coffee bitterness at the edges. Flavors consisted of roasted dark chocolate and coffee (coffee the stronger presence), licorice, figs, and woodiness. Finish was long with a solid coffee presence. Excellent brew on all fronts!

Méchant créature, goût fort mais délicieux de chocolat et de malt roti. Faite pour des vrai buveur de bière, ce n’est pas de la cr**** de Bud.

A very dark black and opaque beer, that lights wasnt able to penetrate its core. A nice brownish head that never dissapeaed from my glass and let a nice oily skin to me glass. The smell was one of roasted coffee, small aroma of chocolate and expresso. The taste was actually quite very coffee, it reminded me of expresso coffee too. The mouthfeel is very weird for this second try, her taste tickles my palate and tongue, giving some tingling effects and I must say I do like that.

[Bottle 341ml, version 2005, dates are unknown, ~20 C]
Deep pitch black color. Nice mocha/brown head with a good retention. Thick. Attack is caramel/chocolate/roasty/toasty/woody. Alcohol level is a little low for an imperial, (but it doesnt change a thing here) Long coffee bitterness in the finishing.

鶕 ml bottle). As mentioned by other raters this beer is much better at room temperature. Thick pour that came out pitch black. Nice foamy, creamy and dense brown head. Strong espresso coffee aroma. Bitter coffee dominates the flavor with a nice roasted tone. Very rich and thick. Strong roasted bitterness comes out of this beer.
