(Bottle 34,1 cl) Vintage 2005. Pitch black and opaque, thick dark brown head. Notes of burned malt in the nose. Incredibly dry flavours with the burned malt completely dominating. An ashy bitterness. Very classical Imperial Stout. 120805 & 271105

[2005 bottle] Oily black with a very short-lived dark reddish brown head. Aroma dark chocolate and a little coffee, roasted malt, and potent vanilla. Maybe a little winey, but not overly. Bittersweet roast flavour, like eating chocolate-covered coffee beans with not much residual sweetness--or maybe it’s a bit overpowered by the bitterness. This beer does not taste at all like it’s over 7% alcohol, with all the rich dark malt. Dense body with moderate carbonation and that malt bitterness holds on a little longer than I would have liked. Not a 4, bur really a great beer.

Opaque black, small tanned head. Expresso nose, very intensive. Roasted, chocolaty. Full-bodied. Some licorice in the aftertaste.

Presario hit it on the head when he said this was at the end of a bunch of Beirophile products that didn’t meet expectations.
Pours like motor oil that creates a huge head with a brilliant nose of chocolate mouse, truffle, smoke and a touch of yeast aroma. VERY NICE. A thick firepit has caramel melting over dark chocolate and then some dark cherries and dark fruit are thrown into this sensational mix in the mouth. Smokey, caramel, dark chcolate bitter finish.

Black, brown head. Big aroma of caramel and prune with a nicehint of milk chocolate in the background. Flavor is coffee, plum, dark chocolate, and mildly savory flavor. As it warms, a smoky earthy undertone emerges. Very tasty! Thanks to Springslicker for this one!

Ends a streak of Bieropholie product that did not meet expectations. Pours like an oil spill with a mudpie on top. Head disappeared rather quickly. Very good chocolate and coffee nose. Very good stout. Delicious blend of alcohol and chocolate. Smooth chocolate bitterness.
