The head on this beer is what I like to see, deep dark brown, very rich looking. This stout smells quite rich and is full of smoky dark chocolate scents... some dusty bakers chocolate and some peppy bitterness in the nose as well. Flavor is similar: rich, smoky bakers chocolate, bitter, frothy and creamy over the middle of the tongue and into the finish, before turning to almost pure unsweetened bakers chocolate. From the aroma expected this to be more smoky, but it fooled me. More of a semi-sweet chocolate chip and milk flavor at times. Regardless, it’s heaven. Slightly thinner than my ideal imperial stout, but it just simply tastes good. In the finish there’s a really light clove/milk/mint thing happenening, or at least that the best way I can describe it. Wonderful, nonetheless.

A black beer with a brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, soysouce, roasted notes. Strong roasted bitterness dominates this brew, like in very dark chocolate or strong coffee. Bitterness lingers with almost smokey notes. Very strong flavours overall, especially the finish is very good. Great beer! Thank you so much Lubiere!

Bouteille Peluso, Avril 2005.

2005 bottle. Pours a very deep dark black, basically opaque...with a nice thick dark tan head. The aroma immediately reminds me of a Speedway....lotsa choco-roasty-coffee to enjoy. The flavor is just as roasty with a fine bitter edge, and a tinge of tobacco-ashy taste (the good kind!) toward the finish---very tasty. Soft carbonation, slightly less than medium mouthfeel leaves me wishing it was a bit fuller on the palate, but it’s still nice, and the bitterly roasted finish is great. I’m enjoying this one!!

A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. Chocolate, coffee and roast in the aroma. Sweet, full and delicious. Bitter coffee dominates the flavor with a nice roasted tone. Dry with a little thin finish. Thanks Per for brining this world class stout home from Canada!

Thick black used motor oil. Sweet caramel coffee aroma. Flavor is a malty, woody chocolate..yum. Great strong bitter finish. Wish I had bought more than one.

Huge, luscious nose: roasted malt, wood, charcoal, licorice, soy sauce - wow! Black color and a creamy tan head that sticks to the glass sides. Fat, deep roasted malt body. A little chocolatey sweetness, but mosted a roasted bitterness. Espresso finish that tapers off into a tobacco aftertaste. Alcohol is present but in the background. Very roasted and slightly unbalanced, really. But this is a fun and exciting - like it a lot. Thanks, MartinT!
