COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2004 vintage, 7%abv.
2005 vintage, indicated on the top right of the label, 7.7%abv. Made for dark chocolate lovers. Should be tasted almost at room temperature with fresh strawberries and somebody to love.
2006 vintage, The brewery was momentarily closed, but a batch was made in another brewery. No marks at the top and 7.7%.
2007 vintage, Maniacs asked for a thicker version. Here it is. We are not responsible if your tongue stays black. 7.9%.
2008, More of everything and a bit more on the roasted than on the chocolate.

A very dark black and opaque beer, that lights wasnt able to penetrate its core. A nice brownish head that never dissapeaed from my glass and let a nice oily skin to me glass. The smell was one of roasted coffee, small aroma of chocolate and expresso. The taste was actually quite very coffee, it reminded me of expresso coffee too. The mouthfeel is very weird for this second try, her taste tickles my palate and tongue, giving some tingling effects and I must say I do like that.

Oh my god I could smell this all day! Cocoa, coconut, licorice, brownies, and some roasted choc malt. Incredible! The flavout is thick and satisfying, just an overload of roasted sweet buttery chocolate notes! Wow the look of this beer also rivals any American impy stout. Honestly I never thought an 8% impy would live up to the hype but man it sure does!

Black with a nice head. We can feel the thickness of the beer in the mouth. Nice chocolate/cocoa and coffee. Better when it is at temperate temperatures (just below room temperature).

Thick black used motor oil. Sweet caramel coffee aroma. Flavor is a malty, woody chocolate..yum. Great strong bitter finish. Wish I had bought more than one.

A very thick pour that came out as black as you can get with a dark brown head. Great coffee and chocolate aroma. Flavor is dominated by coffee. Very rich and thick. A bit bitter in the finish. This was one hell of a stout!

341ml bottle purchased in Montreal. Opaque black with a rich foamy head. The moderate ( for the style) alcohol is very subdued and the roasty chocolate malts get to play center stage. A very well done imperial stout, with a watery drinkability that makes it even more enjoyable.

Méchant créature, goût fort mais délicieux de chocolat et de malt roti. Faite pour des vrai buveur de bière, ce n’est pas de la cr**** de Bud.

Pitch black, thick and oily pour-- not even holding this directly in front of the kitchen light reveals the tint of it’s actual colour. Massive dark brown chunky head. Rich chocolate, coffee, and prune aroma. Heavy mouthfeel with rich chocolate and Marmite flavours dominating, also coffee and prune/raisin/fig jam elements. Very heavy and satisfying, creamy mouthfeel, mildly acidic finish. Absolutely delicious.
