3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Diogène (990) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 27, 2007
Pours a clear copper with a thick beige head, with good retention. Aroma is caramel, nuts, hops, pine, and roasted malts. Flavour is nutty, with roasted malts, caramel, pine and a bitter finish. A little sweeter than expected. Medium to full body. Pretty good overall, but not my favourite from Bièropholie.

Bouteille brune de 331 ml. Surprenant nez fruité. Belle robe rouge et mousse fugace. Goût et arrière-goût dominés par un houblonnage puissant et très bien maîtrisé. Une excellente IPA!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (4287) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 2, 2006
Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy dark amber-copper with an average size mostly-lasting off-white head. Slightly mild but pleasant hoppy aroma backed by caramel malt and some spices. Flavour of toasty caramel malt and UK hops -- also a little bready and spicey and with a fairly long bitter finish. Medium bodied. I prefer the Cascade and Cascade Plus but this is still pretty good.

12 oz. bottle, many thanks to hogtownharry for this sweet brew. Pours a hazy dark amber with a moderate off white head that leaves a trace of lace. Aroma improves as it warms, sweet toasty malts, a hint of caramel and generous floral and lightly citrus hops. Flavor is definitely more english IPA in style, toasty and biscuity malts, a bit of dustiness to the floral hops with a touch of lemon zest in the finish. Medium body and easy carbonation. Pretty nice overall and definitely benefits from some warming.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rsans (125) - Pont-Rouge, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 2, 2006
341ml bottle. A beautiful amber color with a nice creamy head. A very nice malty, sweet caramel/toffee aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with notes of caramel and has a heavy bitterness. Strong body with a rather bitter dry finish. Truly enjoyed this one.

Pours a cloudy amber - orange color with a medium sized healthy looking white head. Aroma... aroma... well as soon as I opened this one, it inundated the hole place with that oily hoppy aroma.. fantastic.Spicy, caramelly very complex and wonderfull (maybe from a hop variety unknown in this lands) really intriguing. Taste is caramelly a hint of hopiness very soft carbonatation. Strange, but despise the commercial description this is a brew I would call "dry" although it really has a caramelly trait to it. Really strange IPA (not that I have tasted so many of them), defiant but calm at the same time. Although it manages to form a nice head and to leave some lace, the carbonatation is really subtle. Mouthfeel is medium, rather dry. Aftertaste is rather calm for an IPA but pleasant. There is something strange going on in this brew, I would love to know the hop schedule since I think it has something to do with that (the earthiness, and certain citrus hints)
An unusual IPA involved in a rather unusual streak of canadian brews, courtesy of a great guy, Lubiere.

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Pours a hazy, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Fat, oily hop aroma. Very full - almost fat - body with lots of caramel and a distinct, hoppy finish. A very solid IPA. 140506
