mj (4971), Colorado, USA Aug 25, 2005 An amazingly rich and complex scotch ale, possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. A bit strong, with some stinging alcohol and wood flavors, some rich black cherries, plums, brown sugar and a slight lactic quality. Very crisp, though, and very fresh tasting. Rivals the Waling Man Scotch Ale as my favorite from the style. omhper (12153), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 25, 2005 Bottled at RBESG. Dark brown. Flowery nose. Sweet and caramelly. Roasty with some honey and fruit, near full body and oily mouthfeel. Tarry finish. Warming. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 22, 2005 Bottle. Dark brown colour with a off-white head. Sweet light roasted malty light alcoholic aroma and a sweet prun, raisin taste. Medium to full body and a sweet finish. Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 17, 2005 A red-brown beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is sweet and slightly roasted. The flavor is sweet malty and roasted, but also with some notes of alcohol. Thanks Stephen (tiggmtl) for bringing this to RBESG, since I couldn’t find it when I was in Montreal. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Aug 16, 2005 (On bottle at RBESG 2005) Very nice rubyred clour, clear, small white head. mashy sweet with strong notes of Gammel Dansk(rowan-fruit). Strange medical taste, witch just went from bad to worse during the drink. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 15, 2005 (Bottle 34,1 cl) Clear chestnut brown with a light brown head. Nose full of lovely roasted malt. Sweetish body yet with rather dry, roasted notes and a marked finishing bitterness for balance. And indeed this is a balanced and harmonious brew. 120805 Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Aug 14, 2005 Nice sweet and roasty nose. Almost completly black body, some red tint, very small off-white head. Sweet and roasty flavor, ends dry. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Aug 14, 2005 Bottled @ RBESG2005: Dark amber coloured. Clear. Beige head. Alcohol, chocolate, hops and some sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is fruity and has some cocoanotes and roast. Is quite alcoholdense. Is a little unblanced. Strong alcoholdense end.
