COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Five different dark grains, molasses and freshly roasted African coffee beans went into this rich and decadent sweet-stout. This beer is unfiltered and matured in the bottle and will continue to improve for the next 2-3 years. After fermentation a portion of the beer was matured on medium-toast french oak providing subtle hints of vanilla and coconut.
Pour carefully to avoid disturbing the sediment.

Bottle, KØ11. Bready aroma, even a bit oxidized. Black colour, small stable dark brown head. The flavour is rather sweet, quite bready. Has a little hvidtøl to it, but is also a bit alcoholic.

Bottle thanks to Ken. Black beer with tan ring of bubbles. Roasted malt aroma. Faint touch of coffee but mostly harsh molasses that dont always work. Yes tar and molasses. Not my thing

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2011. It pours an almost black body and a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. Roasted and slightly burnt maltyness on the nose. Licorice and some prunes too. Salty licorice, roasted malts and sweetness on the palate, some roasted bitterness and a fine dose of hoppy bitterness both initially and in the end. Full-bodied and smooth. Overall, a bit on the sweet side, but a fine beer anyway. 110527

Bottled 340ml (Pikkulintu, BB 11/2013)
Dark brown, almost opaque color, small brownish head. Coffeish, slightly milky aroma. Medium-bodied. Very coffeish, soft palate, milky sweetness. Nicely balanced dessert stout. After medicore Vlakvark, it was great to have a world class milk stout from Bierwerk.

thewolf (11114) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUN 29, 2011
Bottle, bought @ Havnens Vin & Tobak, Vejle.
Clear opaque black with a medium, creamy, cappucino head. Aroma has sharp cold-filtered coffee, roasted malts, black currants. Mild earthy hoppiness. Lowish carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has a hint of metal first, lots of oats, sweet chocolate malts, mild vanilla and oak notes. The coffee is quite subdued in the flavour. Good beer, but Christian has made much better beers.
