COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional British bitter with an African twist. Home toasted caramel malts, South African barley malt and loads of freshly picked Southern promise hops went into this unique ale. It is a complex beer for its modest strength with a refreshingly dry finish. This beer is unfiltered and matured and refermented in the bottle. Pour carefully to avoid disturbing the sediment.

Flavor is moslty hoppy with notes of citrus, grapefruit and alot of grass, but also a good amount of caramel malts and some sweet malts too. The body is light with a slightly powdery dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid Bitter.

Bottle. Dry herbal flavour. The Southern Promise hops seem to have an earthy aroma. Strong tea, tannin. Too vegetal.

(Bottle, 0.55 l, at Pikkulintu, 20110407) The beer poured amber and almost clesr. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and toffee. Palate was quite light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, toffee, malts, hops, mildly strawberry and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter. Not quite a British bitter but not so far away from it either. All the components were too mild unfortunately and that made the beer weak.

It’s hazy bronze with a creamy and lasting head. The aroma is mild with notes of malt, clover-flower and fruit. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of malt, clover-flower, fruit and a touch of herbs. The finish is dry and slightly bitter with a touch of citrus. It has loads of flavour in the low ABV – a perfect session beer that I could drink a lot of.

Bottle. Hazy amber with dense offwhite head. Aroma more hoppy than usual bitters, grassy notes and quite sweet. Nice and subtle. Taste initial bitter, then sweet and malty with some bitterness in the finish. I would say this is more like an ESB. A nice beer with high drinkability and quite true to the style. A session beer.

Clear pale golden colour with small off-white head. Malt, grain and some fruitiness in quite mild aroma. Flavour is also quite mild. Some bitterness and grain.
