3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7308) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 17, 2013
Slightly aged sample Dirty-creamy (-coloured), rather stable head over hazed amber-golden beer. Citrus, orangepeel, faint oxydation, bit of ureum, hops. Dried orange; finishing bittery and straw-like. Again light oxydation and slightly perfumey. Very spritzy despite the light dustiness; light body, but nowhere empty. Very tasty, pity that age had brought some oxydation. Fresh, I’m sure this rivals any original UK bottled bitter. Thanks, Mathieu

Bottle, 55 cl. Pours copper orange with a nice bubbly white head. Aroma is moderately hopp with a grassy and hayish English hop profile backed up with a clear yeast component leaving some esters, a hint of liquorice. Taste is moderately bitter, caramel malts, fruity esters, grassy as well, low carbonation and a bitter and dry finish. Quite tasteful at 3,8%.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mile (2111) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 7, 2011
Bottle. Light amber, hazy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, fruitiness with grassy hoppyness and some caramel. Body is light to medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light fruitiness with some citrus hoppyness, some caramel. Finish is average, malty and dryish, some caramel and grassy hoppyness. Light-bodied bitter with caramel – too much caramel for me considering the body and hoppyness.

Bottle sample @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Clear orange body, small white head. Floral hops in the nose, some honey and pale malts. Taste is bitter floral tones, hints of heather honey and grass. Filling palate. An OK bitter, but then again a bitter rarely gets high ratings from me.
