Saeglopur (1338) - Vienna Woods, - APR 11, 2014
Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Dark amber, hazy body, with big, frothy, slightly beige head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, orange, grass, hay. Taste starts sweet, with yeast, orange, honey and grains and quickly merges into a strong, dry bitterness, of lemon zest, herbs and grass. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes long, strong bitter, dry, with not many aromas. Really an uncommon IPA, that isn’t bad, but just unbalalanced in my opinion. Especially the bitterness is much too dominant, while the fruit notes that could balance this are hidden behind yeast and grain notes. Too weird for my liking.

Bottle - Hazy orange colour, small but persistent white head. Citrussy and grassy hop nose, some grains, light herbal notes. Taste of cereals, grapefruit, lemon zest and some grassy hops. Bittersweet flavour, nice, but too light hoppy finish. Light body, average carbonation. An IPA that needs more body and hops, but ist ok overall.

Bottle. Deep golden to light amber coloured, floaties visible, mid-sized, slowly diminishing off-White head; mild bready-fruity nose, shy medical hops in the Background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, quite thin for a beer of 6.1%; slightly lingering hoppy to cough-syrupy finish. Not much magic in it...

Werckmeister (1303) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - DEC 12, 2014
redish hazy color, fruits smell, light grassy, fresh, some flowers and also light smell of spices (chili). full bodied, light fruity taste but the brew turns very bitter very quickly. Bitterness seems to be a combination of malt and hop bitterness. bitterness tastes also a bit smokey / burned. overall very dry finish. bitterness is long lasting. Uncommon / a bit unbalanced IPA but not unpleasant.
