Smells of English hops. Nice bready flavor without being over the top. Great balance of malt and hops. Easy session beer.

On tap at Alibi’s 300. Pours dark copper orange with a small ring of head. Aroma of English malts, maple, English hop, bread and some vanilla. Flavour of all the above. Medium bodied, stale. Standard English Bitter. Weak.

On tap at The Alibi Room for their 300th Beer Menu, pours a cloudy dark orange amber with a small beige / tan head. Aroma of English malts, English hops and bread. Flavour of bland and sort of stale bread, English malts and hops. Pretty bland and uninteresting, but nothing offensive.

On tap at The Met in New Westminster. Pours a thick creamy head, with nice lacing. Dark amber in color, somewhat cloudy. Aroma is very promising. Flavor is a nice mix of fruit and bitter hops. Palate is pleasant. Very nice overall.

Deep amber-copper color, small off-white head. Malty, slightly caramelly sweet aroma. Medium-bodied. Nutty, caramelly malty flavor, slightly ryeish with low bitterness for a bitter. Something between ESB and amber ale. Decent good-bodied session ale.

Decent maroon color and ok head. Stale hop nose, some bittered cardboard notes. The body has a decent malt-backbone, but again, the hops are rather off-key bitter and stail, flailing in unflattering directions. Not distasteful or awful, just not very enjoyable.

Every time I drink this, I hate the Timbers a little more. Soft earthy leafy nose, some toffee. Clear reddish amber and quite mild in the glass, and not what I would call low carbonation, but definitely not fizzy. Ideal. Solid and firm malty backbone, clean on the palate with a finish that reminds me of the toasty crust of flan. I know I am, I’m sure I am.

Tap @ Third Place Pub. Hazy amber pour with a short white head leaving heavy lace. Toasty nose with toast, almonds and vaguely sweet malt in the medium body. Long, slightly bitter finish. If it had a heavier body, this one would be king, however the lighter body makes it more sessionable. The devil and the deep blue sea!
