3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Straight from the barrel @ Big Al and on cask @ Parkway. Cloudy dark brown pour with a tan head leaving moderate lace. Malty nose. Milk chocolate, dark-roasted malt medium body which is fairly smooth. Dry finish with some bitterness, but the resinous hop content is more reticent in the (days) older brew I had at the Parkway. I’d love to try this one on the randall and would recommend a stronger hopping for it to compete in the CDA category. Having said that, the ale is quite pleasant as it stands.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within a minute. There’s some light lacing here and there in a messy sort of way.
The smell started off roasty and somewhat bitter through a coffee bitterness. Some light citrus hops come in to balance.
The taste was mainly roasty and bitter combining previously mentioned flavors intricately.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. I like how the roastiness rests on the citrus nicely over my tongue.
Overall, pretty good black ipa that I would have again. Everything goes well with this one.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle pours out a dark brown topped with a sand head. Nose is roast malts chocolate and a little hop. Taste is as the nose with mostly roast and chocolate with just a touch of hops. Porter like almost, Think we missed the mark on this Black IPA.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I'm diggin' this one. The word here is roast-ey! Beautiful black IPA, with a huge malt presence that is roast-ey. Hops are good, and provide a nice balance, but if you were to ask what the defining quality of this beer is, I'd answer, roast-ey. Recommended! A-

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Brackish brown in color, much like pond water, thin sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Soft
roasted malts, carob, bakers chocolate, and pasture.   Watery astringent roastiness up front, slight touch of sourness, a
little bit of carob and pasture.   Thinking about Wookie Jack that I had a little while back, this stuff is doesn’t even
compare.   Finish is thin, a little bit of roasted astringency.   Seems more like a Schwarzbier than a Black IPA in
that there appears to be no IPA in here.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, but leaning heavily towards the thin side.
Yeah, this is no Black IPA.   Could make for a decent Scwharzbier tho.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bomber from 99 Bottles in Federal Way, WA pours brown in color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves some decent lacing behind. Aroma is citrus and pine with some light chocolate and light roast grains. Taste is citrus, pine and roast grain bitterness with a light chocolate and grainy malt sweetness. A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. A nicely done brew and recommended.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours almost brown with a slight creamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and mixed hop. Med + body. Flavor has a touch of chocolate, a hint of sour, and mixed hop - not to mention some dark malt. If the sour indicates infection, it was a lucky result. This stuff is typical black IPA with a little extra kick to it. Finishes very dry. Definitely bitter. Sour note persists. Drinks very pleasantly.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with a medium size tan head that sticks around, and good lacing.
Smell is of hops, dark malt, some roastiness, a little pine, and nutty.
Taste is tart up front, bitter, cola-ish, a touch of caramel, hops, and malt in the back. Ends dry and bitter.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle in enumclaw Washington. Not my favorite black ipa - the blend seemed wrong, maybe a bad batch. Decent nose, but the hop/malt dynamic seemed forced
