3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a mostly clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Strange Brew. Pours murky medium brown with a dense and creamy tan head. Mild, nutty, bready nose, fair amount of malt sugar but not cloying or sugary. Light, crisp body, with bracing and well-placed carb. Nutty, bready, dry mid-palate. Mild and restrained, but well made and very drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this at Atlantic Crossing--thought the bartender said it was brewed for the bar. Deep grainy red and exuding a grainy malt. Good amber/red malt aromas and flavor. Medium-bodied, appealing graininess-perhaps Golden Promise grains. Little detectable hopping. A flavorful example of the style.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Heavy rich malt body, dark red caramel brown. Alcohol and sour-alt malting, a bit of a mess. Reminiscent of the ’big red’ beer brewed in Serbia, not a great comparison, funky malts, residual sugars and alc bite.
