3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden pour with some chill haze and a light frothy head. The aroma is grassy and bready w some light sweetness. Flavor is grassy and a bit sweet. Somewhat bready with a decent hoppy finish. My retard ratings are better than your retard ratings. I must be a highly capable retard...

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft at Fiddler’s Inn
Pale gold, fairly limited nose and flavor profile compared to the better local lagers that I’ve been enjoying lately. On the other hand, clean drinking, without obvious flaws -- but just not anything I’d be hurry to revisit.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light bronze, flat bodied look. Light crystal and pilsner malts apparent in aroma and flavor. Lackluster, but clean and mildly flavorful. Seems a bit under-bodied, even for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2009 6/10/09 From the fermenter, Munich Helles. Aroma is quite different from other light lagers, with an even blend of light fruitiness and pils malt that has more corniness than sourness. There’s also a unique creamy note in the background. Appearance is clear light gold with a moderate maintained white head. Flavor and texture are both quite creamy, low on sourness for the style, with slightly grainy sweet malt dominating and just a faint touch of earthy noble hops. Mouthfeel is low bodied with a medium carb texture and lingering finish that adds to the perception of more body. Overall, a lighter lager that goes down easy while still giving enough malt to make this a great food pairing beer for either at the bar or on the patio.
