This beer was the highlight of my sampling at Big Aloha. A perfectly crafted, and somewhat unique, island brew. Deep brown with sasparilla underpinning and a respectable head. The nose easily fills with a sweet roastiness, true to its honey porter name. As the bartender tells me, island honey (acacia?) is used for this brew. It certainly adds a distinct and pleasurable complexity the well put togther porter base. The sweetness complements the heavier roast notes that are richly nuanced with chocolate, coffee, and maltiness. MIlk chocolate finish. A medium-bodied, flavorful and quaffable brew.

Not a bad porter, somewhat malty and sweet up front; roasty dry and creamy finishing palate; some pheonelic notes; well balanced

Ehh. Real tight nose. Using "honey" in the name suggests sever things. None of which I get in this beer. Expected a more viscous beer. Sweetness is detectable but not pronounced. Good follow through though.
