COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Boatilla Amber Ale is brewed using a blend of Pale 2 Row and Cara Munich malts that give it a beautiful, deep reddish hue. It’s well balanced, but has a bolder maltiness than our Kölsch. Boatilla is the perfect beer for those summer evenings spent floating on the water with friends and family.

Tap in tasting room. Light brown pour. Smells like the inside of a brewery in a good way. Tastes of malt and slight hops. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is malty, with bread, buts, and a bit of caramel. Taste isn’t extremely complicated either. More caramel comes out and there is some noticeable yeast flavors. I find a butterscotch taste in here as well. Some bitterness here. Short aftertaste of caramel and nuts. Light in body with a more thin texture. Nothing really all that special here.

Sample at beerfest. Nice amber ale, lacks any type of hops punch. Good color, solid caramel malts.

Very plain all-around, and a bit sour. Has a kick not seen in most amber but not enough of one to recommend solely because of it.

Bottle. Pours a light bronze with small off white head that quickly dissipates. Some patchy faint lacing. Aromas of malt and a bit of caramel. Taste is similar; light malt, caramel, a bit of hops. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Drinkable, but nothing really standing out for me.

Darkish brown with a falling, medium head. Caramel and nutty aroma. A fairly strong buttery/nutty Munich malt flavor. On the bitter side, but more grain bitter/astringent than hop induced.

Boatilla didn’t have much flavor, and what it did have was sort of funky. There wasn’t a whole lot of aroma, but at least it had a nice copper color. I hope Big Bay takes a stab at tweaking the recipe because Milwaukee could use another good amber microbrew.

Tap. Pours to an amber body with a white head. The aroma is nasty with lots of diacetyl and butterscotch. Similar flavor and totally flawed. The palate is average.
