3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tmoreau (1346) - Lombard, USA - OCT 19, 2011
On tap at Husby’s during the Sister Bay, WI. FallFest. Poured a clear, brownish amber with off white/cream froth to the head foam, and good curtainy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light grain, toasty malt with a little sweetness, and caramel. The flavor added moderate but lingering hop bitterness, a little lighter than medium body, and a dry finish. More of a hoppy Amber to me. Maybe there was some mislabelling with the Boatilla.

Sampled from bottle in 16 oz. snifter. Slight malty aroma; little hops. Appears amber/orange, slightly cloudy. A bit of sweetness upfront, with grainy overtones, yielding to a lasting, pleasant bitterness.

Very citrusy aroma. Grapefruit was the first thing I tasted. Crisp and refreshing. Would have again.

Sampled on draught at the GTMW- 2011 and via 12-oz bottle. Pours a clear dark golden amber colored brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Plenty of carbonation bubbles. Aroma of both multi-grain malt, a hint of citrus and grassy hops and some bread dough. Taste is light to medium bodied, well-carbonated with flavors of mostly English dry malt and a hint of grassy and dry hops. Finish is semi-dry, a tad metallic with a short lived mild bitterness. Closer to an English pale ale than an IPA.

Draft at OF. Filtered orange-tan. Thin, oily head. A little more hop character than I had anticipated. A pretty decent, sessionable English IPA. On the fuller side of medium bodied. Soapy mild citrus. Biscuit one-dimensional malt. Mild and boring, a half ass IPA for 2011. Not off though, drinkable.

T: fairly sweet caramel malt up front, touch of bread dough.. finish moderately bittered for the style, moderate resin and a touch of wood.
P: on the thicker side dor an ipa. Fairly mild carvonation, leaves a touch of srickiness on the lips.
A: Very mild for the style but erhaps a welcome brewk from the norm. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden amber color with a good white head. Some nice lacing here. Aromas of light bready malt with some hop tones. Taste is relatively mild compard to other IPA’s. Very drinkable but a little more fresh hop bitterness would be nice.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 twindadplus2 (515) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Slightly hazy coppery amber color with a firm white head. Light floral and citrus aroma with some creamy malt. Flavor is creamy malt and a light herbal bitterness. Lightly carbonated with a dry, pine finish. Refreshing and very drinkable, seems a bit less bitter than most IPA’s but it may just be that so many other IPA’s overdo it. In any case, I like it.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 sloth (2102) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Small, firm white head with good retention and a bit of spotty lace. Lightly hazy, copper gold hued color. Nose is slightly sour malts, light citrus and malt. Body is med/light, sorta thin with low carbonation, little metallic. Grainy malt flavors with some laid back citrus hop notes, malts are a little sweet, light fruit. Lightly sweet, malty finish that needs more bittering. Bottle from ughsmash.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 crossovert (2777) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 15, 2012
A nice lighter IPA that still surprisingly had some hops, have to try it again though to really make a good judgement.

This is my favorite among the Big Bay family. It’s light and slightly piney in taste, with a foggy copper color. Very refreshing and drinkable, perfect for people who are easing themselves into craft beer acclimatization.
