3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2012 Pours opaque dark brown. Ample head, coffe tinged cream in color, subsides to a lingering lace cap. Coffee with a hint of toffee in the aroma.
Clean porter style in taste. Nicely balanced, not too dry, not too toasty, not too bitter - refreshing. Pallette, again clean, medium body, with a faint lingering hop note. Overall, a very drinkable, well crafted. Refreshing and clean (which is odd for a porter). Update - on tap at 3-Lions - pleasant enough, but light and watery for a porter.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at Big Bay. Caramel brown body. Beige head. A pretty boring, sugary offering. While there aren’t any striking off flavors, the whole thing is pretty bland, boring, cheap. Thin schwarz feel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a standard porter. Roasty, caramel aroma with hint of hay. Sort of woody. Pleasant enough to look at and smell. Brown colored as it should be. Medium sweetness and a light bitter flavor. The body is light with a slick and fizzy finish. Overall a very drinkable and light porter. It won’t knock your socks off, but it’s not bad.
