The Kölsch style beer was originally brewed in the Köln area of Germany. Our Wavehopper Kölsch has subtle hop and malty aromas. It’s a light to medium bodied beer with a hint of creaminess brought on by the addition of small amount of wheat. This beer is perfectly balanced for those sunny afternoons on the water.

Is semi similar to a honey bock buA fairly good Kolsch or Cologne style beer meaning it is supposed to be light, a good summer beer, refreshing, and more complex than usual for a lighter beer. Given that this is a refreshing summer lager that is quite sweet, with minimal hop bitterness, some malt in flavoring and with minimal complexityet having subtle honey flavors. Overall I would recommend this on a hot day and liked it. It is semi-similar to a honey boch and going with that is my 2nd favorite honey boch-like after New Glarus’ Cabin Fever and my favorite Kolsch bier by default as of 6-7-11 as it is the only one I’ve had yet.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of Andy from Secret Krampus. Pale straw pour with a short lived white head. Apple juice, corn pops, sugar, and just a lot of sugar. Slightly burnt aroma. Grassy hops. Flavor is very bland. Mostly sugary cereal/corn pops. High carbonation, apple juice, and a bit of grass. Kind of burnt and soapy, too. This is no wave.

Hahaha... "Kolsch." Right, fellas.. and my blond ale is a non-sour Berliner weiss. Anyway, this isn’t really all that great whatever it is. It’s kind of a mildly sweet ale w/ a bit of butterscotch and earthiness lurking around every corner. The bit of sweetness is cut by brisk carbonation, I will give them that, but otherwise, I don’t have much to say about this.
