3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Big Bear Brewery, Coral Springs, pours a dark black color with a silky mocha head, poured in a lager glass, not a snifter? Nose is chocolate, malt and subtle espresso. Taste is toasty with nice chocolate and little if any carbonation. Finishes on chocolate notes, dry and short finish as well. Smooth and velvety. Quaff Score 7 / 10

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Very dark with nice head retention. Sips smooth and slightly sweet, which turns to a hoppy middle and bitter offputting finish. Winner of the best of the worst contest at Big bear brewing. Nothing at this brewpub is worth going to Coral springs for.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft from the brewery. American pint glass. Black opaque pour with tan thick head. Good lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste was well balanced with coffee, light chocolate, vanilla and bitter finish. Smooth and not too heavy like many stouts. Very good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
I like my stouts to have a bit of bitterness to them, and this is one of the drawbacks of this beer. The hops are present but almost completely overwhelmed by the chocolate and coffee character of this offering. Still, really good. I made some jambalaya with this beer once, might’ve been the best jambo I’ve ever made...

Nice black pour with a tan head. Weak nose but nice coffee and malt notes. Taste is good but thin and a bit watery. Just ok.

Pours with a massive head. Hints of chocolate and coffee quite a nice brew Dark roasted Malts seem to dominate the hops, rich and lays well on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
For a regular stout, I thought this one was pretty darn good when I had it on draft at Big Bear. Pours stout brown with a tan head. Nose is cocoa, coffee, roast, dark chocolate, and a tiny amount of bitterness. Flavor is similar with dark fruitiness in the background and lingering cocoa/ chocolate character in the finish. Nice stout.

I actually liked this stout, for a guy not liking very many stouts. It was very well balanced and very sweet compared to most. I actually had two pours from draft
