3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 nick76 (3583) - Tampa, USA - MAR 4, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 I like this one a lot and almost love it. The aroma is like a cellar where malt is stored with a decent hopping. The appearance is red amber with a small head. The flavor is caramel malt and bitter hops that were not as powerful in the aroma. Thin palate but, overall this one is a winner. In my opinion, it was the best of show FBG 09.

Draft @ Big Bear. Pours a clear pale amber with a soapy white head. Nose is bread, caramel, slight hop presence, malt, and bitterness. Flavor is caramel, hops, mild- not too aggressive. Mild sweetness hides within. Light body and pretty good overall. Nice.

I don’t know if this is under some other name, but it is definitly their version of an Irish ale. Has red tint with subtle tones of barley and malts.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 crazyvin (1572) - New York, USA - MAY 5, 2009
Nicely balanced amber ale. Amber body with a thin white head that did not gave great retention. Aroma had some nice hop notes and a good caramel malt note to it. Caramel malts were mostly present in the flavor but there was a nice hop bitterness there to balance out the sweetness. Not great but nice.

Amber color. Malty, breadlike aroma. Flavor of malts, caramel, sweet grain. Beer has very little hops on the finish, but not a bad beer.

Bright amber colour. Fruity, lightly toasty nose. Toasty palate with caramel accents. The two play off of each other, with the caramel winning out for a sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Pours a deep monotonically copper with weak off white head. The aroma is on the light side emitting roasted malts, caramel, some biscuit and faint breadiness. There may also be the faintest hint of citrus hops too. The taste is kind of sweet malts and roasted malts mixed with caramel creating almost a sweet citrus flavor aided by mild citrus hop flavor and faint citrus hop bitterness, if there is any at all. It could just be faint malt astringency. Into the finish I get more mild caramel and sweet malts that fizzle out into the finish.
