This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

Poured a deep brown. Mild head. Pretty nutty. Some toffee. An ok brown nothing spectacular.

This one is good and has some punchy malt flavors. I’ve certainly had worse brown ales. The aroma could be a little more pungent, but still it has plenty of that brand cereal notes with a sweet underbelly. Taste follows with lots of cereal, brand flakes, toasted bread, toasted malt, grains and faint leather with a smooth sweet sugary character in the background. Finish is slighly sticky and malt...pretty much what you’d expect.

Crisp brown ale. Mild roast. Medium color. Very slight hoppy finish. Not bitter. Wish had more depth. Good drinkable beer overall.

From a 12 oz bottle. Lightly sweet with a mild but lingering flavor. Medium-light body may be slightly over carbonated and thin. O: A solid brown ale

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper brown with a thin white head. Sweet toffee and fruity malt on the nose. Medium bodied, crisp and malty, toffee and a touch of sweetness. Soft malt and toffee into the finish. Super malty.

Old rating. Brown ale standard fare. Nutty and bit doughy. No real chocolate or hop presence. Boring but not bad.

From my future son ion law. Aroma is quite malty. Taste is rather obtuse. Yes, malty carries over and its a little annoying. Reminds me a little of nes castle, no?

12oz pour at Charleston Beer Works, pours a clear brown with some slim head. Nose has brown sugar sweetness, some malt, faint chestnut honey, some dried fruit. Flavor is the same, overly sweet, fig, caramel, some orange. Messy finish.
