COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

Draught. Clear and brown, rather appealing. Bready malt aroma along with resinous hops. Earthy, woody notes in there as well. Flavor is medium bitter with a woody aged type flavor. Very smooth and drinkable. I would drink this again.

Tap: clear brown, with cereal malty aroma and a little musty sourness. Light feel with definite English malts and a finish almost similar to an ESB. Not bad, nothing special.

Bottle. Pours dark, murky brown. No head, just some bubbles in the middle. Smells sweet. Tastes sweet, hard to place. Very mild and drinkable. A very solid beer.

@ Whole Food Markets / Asheville NC --- Clear brown with a 1" head, sprays of lace. Taste is margarine and malt, not very appealing. Stays with the opening until a lightly bittered finish rounds things out. Very ordinary, not nearly as well done as the common brown ale. Not recommended.

Pours dark cola brown with visible carbonation at depth and a thick and creamy light tan head. Big lacing. Aroma is biscuits and toasted malts. Taste is sweet chocolate malt into burnt roasted grains. Some notes of buttery caramel and nuts. Pretty well-carbonated. A solid English-style brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Barley’s - Asheville. Pours clear dark brown with a small, fizzy beige head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast and chocolate malt, dates and figs with earthy hops. Flavor is dark malt and fruits, medium hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Glass at Barleys in Asheville. A lotbof red in the dark brown. More that is typical. Not a lot of aroma at all. Fruit is tasted with earth. Light molasses. Everything is light here. This would be a good intro beer but there is n Just not enough going on for me.
